ABOUT THIS POSITION
We are recruiting for an Accountant II to join our team. As a key member of our growing accounting and finance team, you will be responsible for general accounting and reporting functions including performing moderately complex account reconciliations, maintaining fixed assets, and various quarterly and ad-hoc projects.
OPPORTUNITIES YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE
Responsible for several month-end reconciliations and related journal entries, including but not limited to (subject to change) : bank, investments fixed assets, sales tax, accrued rebates, accrued warranty, debt, leases.
Completing certain reconciliations will require working with the AR or AP team and others within the organization
- Responsible for maintaining the fixed asset and depreciation schedules
- Hold quarterly meetings with relevant project managers to understand the status of CIP projects and record the transfer to fixed assets as applicable, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Play an important role in maintaining strong internal controls in accordance with audit standards and Sarbanes Oxley 404, which includes among other things, preparation and upkeep of strong procedural documentation, performing SOC 1 reviews, addressing audit requests
- Responsible for updating financial reporting templates using Jet Reports (an Excel Add-in) for changes in account or company structure
- Assist with changes within the ERP system
- Act as backup and support to the processing of sales invoices and for various accounting functions as needed
- Assist with various IT and other projects as they arise
- Prepare ad-hoc journal entries as necessary
- Assist in addressing financial reporting needs as they arise
WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO OUR GREAT TEAM
Required :
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
- 2+ years of general accounting experience including account reconciliations, month-end close processing, and preparing journal entries
- Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-pace setting and prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
Preferred :
- Medical device experience
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or other ERP system
- Previous experience with a global organization
