JOB TITLE : Manager, North America Health Economics & Market Access
JOB SUMMARY
The North America Manager of Market Access and Health Economics leads the strategy for coverage, coding and reimbursement as well as payer relations that result in adoption of the products and solutions offered by Terumo BCT.
The manager is accountable for the market access impact within their assigned geography. Works with both public and commercial payers (national and regional).
A key responsibility is telling the story of existing evidence and value to patients of TBCT products through various means to payers.
Success in these efforts is evidenced by increased uptake of Terumo BCT's Therapeutic Apheresis System, Automated Red Blood Cell Exchange, and related products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works cross-functionally with Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Governmental Affairs, Commercial, Medical Affairs and Regional Marketing colleagues in N. America.
- Supports the commercial teams upon customer reimbursement, coverage or health economic related questions.
- Acts as regional Reimbursement expert, responding to internal questions, giving presentations and creating materials for the Medical Affairs, Scientific Marketing and Therapeutic Sales group.
- Leads Market Access Associates, delivering instruction and project guidance where needed, managing project responsibilities, ensures assignments are completed on time, supervises and leads all external payer interactions.
Also includes preparation of summaries and regular progress reporting to the Senior Manager, North America Patient Access.
- Promotes Market Access milestones and successes through various established and approved information channels.
- Identifies drivers and barriers for market access. Drafts plans to mitigate and executes these plans.
- Works closely with physicians, clinicians, payers and health care professionals with health economics expertise to inform on the economic value proposition of the TBCT solutions.
- Develops payer information materials that demonstrate the added value of the TBCT Solutions. Leads all interaction with payers within N.
America in close collaboration with the Senior Manager, North America Patient Access .
Keeps abreast of current changes in market access and reimbursement; provides information internally and externally on health economics, pricing and reimbursement for therapeutic apheresis and related fields.
Responsible for responding to customer inquiries relating to policy and health economics.
Identifies opportunities for health economic publications (posters, talks, and full publication) that support the value proposition of TBCTs Solutions.
Manages the process of obtaining those publications.
- Represents Terumo BCT on relevant working groups.
- Maintains awareness of regulations governing promotional claims for health economics; ensures all regulatory and compliance internal and external guidelines are followed.
- Builds relationships with key clinical and outcomes thought leaders, resulting in research collaboration .
- Develops the regional Market Access strategy for annual planning and execution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Knowledge required to perform at this level is generally acquired through completion of a Master's degree and / or equivalent experience.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry is preferred.
- Experience working with commercial and / or public payers and US health policy environment.
- Experience interacting with governmental agencies is also considered relevant.
- The ideal candidate has owned the market access role during a product launch in the US market and has worked in close collaboration with other business functions (medical affairs, governmental affairs, legal, regulatory, marketing and sales) in prior roles.
- Project management expertise
- Experienced in immunology, hematology and therapeutic apheresis preferred but not required.
- Excellent organizational, written and oral communications skills.
Preferred Skill sets
- Ability to work self-directed, independently, and as a part of the global market access team.
- Ability to create value dossiers and presentations in support of health economic initiatives.
- Interpersonal skills allowing frequent cross-functional cooperation and collaboration are required.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals, presenting at conferences preferred.
- Ideally knowledgeable about therapeutic apheresis application, patient treatment options and clinical studies.
- Ability to creatively problem solve.
- Strong presentation skills.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Up to 30% travel, including international travel is required.
- Working remote is possible

Target Pay Range : $107,300.00to$134,100.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base : 10.0%
