Description :
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Health Insurance Specialist verifies eligibility and benefit packages and obtains co-pay, co-insurance, and deductible information for all patients receiving Behavioral Health and Medical services at COPE, as instructed;
The Health Insurance Specialist assists patients with financial screenings and with obtaining / retaining health insurance benefits.
For non-RHBA clients, the Health Insurance Specialist processes Referrals and Prior Authorizations for services in a timely manner, corresponds with clients who owe money to COPE for rendered services, and contacts clients who missed an appointment or did not make a follow-up appointment, to offer another appointment, while providing quality customer service.
This is a full time in person position at an outpatient clinic.
The hours are Monday - Friday 8 : 00am - 5 : 00pm.
Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED plus at least one (1) year full-time experience in a medical or behavioral health setting verifying insurance coverage eligibility and benefits packages.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bi-lingual (Spanish / English) preferred.
