The City of Laguna Beach is seeking a skilled and experienced Cyber Security Analyst to their Information Technology team.
This exciting NEW position involves advanced, specialized work related to threat detection and prevention, vulnerability management, security education, and incident response.
The successful candidate will assess the current security landscape, make informed recommendations, and manage complex security projects and related programs.

Schedule : This position typically allows for remote work up to two days per week, depending on department needs. It may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays in the event of after-hour tasks, breach, or emergency.

Minimum Qualifications :
Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to effectively and successfully perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying.
A typical combination is as follows :
Education : Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, or other directly related field.
Experience : Five (5) years of experience in a complex information technology systems environment, including at least two (2) years developing and implementing cyber information security systems.
License / Certificates : A valid California Class C driver license with an acceptable driving record required by time of appointment and throughout employment.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other related cyber security certificate is desirable.

The appointing hiring authority will further review the job-related qualifications of applicants deemed eligible before making selection decisions.
The selection process may be modified based on the needs of the City.
Pre-employment Process : Selected candidates must successfully pass a fingerprint check with the State Department of Justice, and a pre-placement physical including a drug test.
Education and employment verification and reference check(s) will also be conducted.
