Overview : The Associate Director of Special Events supports the development and implementation of philanthropic events and meetings to engage donors and enhance the image and reputation of Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH).
This includes strategic planning, production, and execution of in-person and virtual meetings, signature events, conferences, and fundraisers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Work closely with the Director and Executive Director of Special Events to manage and execute all philanthropy-related events.
- Implement individual event strategies to align with philanthropic goals and objectives.
- Ensure a competitive bid process for vendor selections and administer contract negotiations.
- Develop metrics to assess ROI and refine programs.
- Create event business plans to achieve fundraising goals.
- Ensure messaging and branding are consistent with BILH’s guidelines.
- Analyze invitation criteria and attendance trends for events.
- Oversee event data analytics to assess trends and inform planning.
- Develop relationships with vendors to ensure high-quality events.
- Support the Corporate and Foundation Relations team to secure sponsorship opportunities.
- Develop event timelines and manage all logistics.
- Perform administrative activities and other responsibilities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications :
Experience : 5-8 years related work experience in event planning and / or project management.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities :
- Demonstrate teamwork, resourcefulness, and results orientation.
- Experience in marketing, communications, and donor / customer relations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications :
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on evenings / weekends as required.
