The Job

Marsh McLennan Agency’s Northwest region is seeking a Legal and Compliance Specialist to assist in-house counsel, outside counsel and the internal compliance department with a variety of legal and compliance functions.

The Legal and Compliance Specialist will understand the business environment and strategy in order to advise and provide guidance on potential risks.

We will give you access to mentorship, training, resources, and development to ensure your success, but you will need to supply the drive and desire to be an MMA NW professional.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Serve as point of contact for internal and external clients on contractual matters.
  • Draft, review and administer contractual matters including legal and compliance issues, facilities, equipment and other vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, fee for service agreements, carrier agreements and others as requested.
  • Prepare contract summaries highlighting and interpreting contractual rights and obligations to ensure that due diligence is practiced in complying with the stated terms and conditions and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Support ongoing maintenance of current contracts including updating demographics, negotiating contract fee schedules, terms, service changed and renewals.
  • Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration which adhere to regulatory requirements and company policy.

Provide ongoing education and process training for colleagues on compliance policies and procedures.

Plus (the fine print) : you’ll follow organization policies and procedures, sales and service standards and established workflows.

You’ll ensure quality control through proper file documentation and maintenance. You’ll maintain confidentiality and be an all-around awesome member of our team.

Additional Requirements :

  • Work history in contract management and paralegal experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and Paralegal Certification preferred
  • Experience working within the insurance industry preferred

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education.
