Therapeutic Activities Coordinator

Redeemer Health Care Center, a 5-star rated, 119-bed senior care campus in Uptown, is hiring a unique position for our site, a Full-Time Therapeutic Activities Coordinator to join our team! We have a very diverse group both staff & residents, central location in the Twin Cities, free parking lot, and engaging community.

In this role, you be able to engage with residents in FUN activities such as : going to the movies, host trivia, help with art, dog visits, assist with VR & other technologies, etc. *New Grads Welcome!*

This is a Full-Time, benefit eligible position available working Monday through Friday (8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm) and rotating Saturdays (8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm) with some flexibility.

Pay : $20 - $25 / hour depending on experience

Therapeutic Activities Coordinator responsibilities :

• Assist residents on outings such as Twin games, parks, museums, out to eat, and much more
• Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences, advocating for resident’s abilities in recreation
• Learn to develop care plans and progress notes for assigned caseload
• Creatively plan programs; implement arts / crafts, cognitive games, active games, parties, and events
• Encourage, support, and assist residents with activities.
• Assist in managing therapeutic recreation programs.
• Interact and assist residents on a one to one basis outside of structured program times.
• Document activity attendance and degree of involvement.
• Act as a positive representative at all times.
• Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.

Therapeutic Activities Coordinator skills and requirements :

• Prior experience implementing activity programs to long-term-care residents or equivalent education (health / human services related field) preferred.
• Being a CTRS, COTA, or music therapist with long and short term experience preferred.
• Valid MN driver's license preferred.
• Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.
• Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.
• Great communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.
• Have problem-solving skills for a variety of mental, emotional, physical challenges of residents
• Be able to walk about 10,000 steps each day, including dozen flights of stairs, pushing people in wheelchairs up / down ramps, outside, around the building
• Be ok with having 50% of your time on your feet and 50% of your time in your office / sitting
• Must have computer and smart TV proficiency
