What you can expect as a Facilities Maintenance Technician at West Star :

This position ensures that all buildings, grounds and equipment are kept in good repair and working order. This position requires basic motor skills and an ability to provide high customer service.

Arm strength, basic dexterity and operate hand tools and power tools and equipment to complete tasks are required. Electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and general construction knowledge is essential.

Will be required to work with a planned work schedule and minimum supervision. Job duties will vary as designated by the Supervisor of Facilities Maintenance.

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including :

• Perform maintenance on facilities, including but not limited to plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and care of the grounds and ramp areas.
• Limited construction and / or modification of buildings, including welding as necessary.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance on vehicles, golf carts, forklifts, floor cleaners, Gene Booms, man lifts
• Hazardous waste pick up from all facilities.
• Shoveling snow and gravel as necessary.
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

What you'll need to bring with you :

Your Education

A High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Must have a valid Driver's License

Your Experience

5 yrs. minimum facilities maintenance experience required.

Auto mechanic experience preferred.

Your Responsibility

Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.

Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.

Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.

Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.

Maintain a safe working environment.

Report unsafe conditions to Facilities Maintenance Manager.

Read and follow all label instructions on chemical materials and operating instructions for powered equipment.

Report accidents immediately to Facilities Maintenance Manager.

Other Particulars :

Physical Requirements

Lift and carry at least 75 lbs.

Stand and work on concrete for prolonged periods.

Routine walking, bending, squatting, sitting, climbing ladders and working on roofs.

Repetitive motion with arms and legs.

Mental Requirements

Process and complete tasks.

Troubleshoot or evaluate problems.

Work with others in a professional manner.

Supervision

Will work under supervision of Facilities Maintenance Manager.

Working Conditions

Work will be performed under all seasonal conditions in all locations throughout West Stars buildings and properties. Fifty percent of work is performed outdoors on concrete and asphalt.

Personal hand tools, power tools and other pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment including forklift, tractor, pickup truck, golf cart, snowplow, tug, power cart, lifts, jacks, stands and forklifts.
