Dental Hygienist’s Responsibilities

• Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before the examination.
• Sterilize dental instruments properly.
• Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history.
• Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis.
• Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g., remove plaque or apply fluoride)
• Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)

Dental Hygienist’s Qualifications

• A diploma in Dental Hygiene is required; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• A current and Valid License to practice dental hygiene is required.
• Three (3) years of minimum as a Dental Hygienist is required.
• Must have experience in preparing dental instruments and equipment.
• Understanding of health & safety regulations i.e., HIPAA
