Job Title : Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (RN-ER)
Location : Anacortes, WA
Department / Unit : Emergency Department (ED)
Shift : 12 Hour Variable
Salary : $60,000 to $140,000
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team in Anacortes, WA. Our facility is a Level 3 trauma center and a designated Stroke and Cardiac Center, providing critical care to a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Assess, triage, and manage patients using the ESI triage model.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including common drips such as Norepinephrine, Levophed, Cardizem, Heparin, Precedex, and Propofol.
- Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and emergency staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with facility policies.
Unit Overview :
- Trauma Level : Level 3 Trauma Center
- Bed Capacity : 11 beds, flexible up to 17 with chairs and hallway beds
- Triage Area : Yes, travelers will triage using the ESI model with available online resources
- Patient Volume : Treat an average of 45-55 patients per day
- Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 3, flexing to 1 : 4 as needed
Required Qualifications :
- Current RN license in the state of Washington or eligible for licensure.
- Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC; TNCC preferred.
- Experience in Emergency Nursing preferred; charge experience highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Meditech or similar electronic health record systems.
Skills and Competencies :
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with composure.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with bedside procedures requiring sedation.
Support Staff :
- ED Techs : 1 on days / nights and one mid-shift (11 AM - 11 PM) for tasks including splinting, basic wound care, transports, and EKGs.
- Respiratory Therapy (RT) : Available 24 / 7 for assistance with ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs.
- Phlebotomy : In-house lab services available for blood draws.
Scheduling Details :
- Shift Hours : 12-hour shifts; variable start times (days starting at 7 AM, 9 AM, or 11 AM; nights starting at 1 PM or 7 PM).
- Weekend Requirements : Every other weekend required.
- Holiday Requirements : Expected to work holidays as needed.
- Floating Requirements : May float to acute care or ICU with modified load responsibilities.

Scrub Color : Navy Blue (scrubs provided currently).
