Position Title District Extension Agent Job Summary Responsible for employment-related operations, including recruitment, screening of applicants, the employment process, payroll and related policy implementation, evaluation, and staff development.
Essential Job Duties
- Assist extension professionals with the management of food system / community projects
- Assist limited resource communities in the counties as needed
- Provide oversight on committees of Annual Conferences
- Play a primary role in communication between TUCE State Advisory Board and County Staff
- Provide general TUCE program oversight for compliance with NIFA guidelines
- Responsible for Statewide Personnel Training and Development, Professional Improvement Planning, and competency-based employment standards.
- Responsible for employment-related operations, including recruitment, screening of applicants, the employment process, payroll and related policy implementation, evaluation, and staff development.
- Provides oversight of Employee Performance Evaluation Systems, including training of Department Heads, Regional Staff, and County Directors in conducting effective performance appraisals.
- Develops reports based upon analyses of performance review scores.
- Other duties as assigned by the 1890 Extension Administrator.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- Masters degree in agriculture, environmental science, food development, education, or related area
- 20+ years of experience in cooperative extension
