They are seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team.
Salary / Hourly Rate :
$140k $150k+ Depending on experience & Bonus
Position Overview :
The Assistant Controller is a management role that provides support to leading the accounting functions. This position ensures timely and accurate financial reporting across the group’s statutory and GAAP entities.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller :
- Spearhead the preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Manage comprehensive audit processes, including statutory and GAAP financial statements and related disclosures, as well as audits of employee benefit plans.
- Direct bank reconciliations, payroll, management of loans and debt agreements, intercompany transactions, and other corporate expenses.
- Oversee investment accounting transactions, reporting, compliance, and performance review functions.
- Ensure the integrity of the investment portfolios in conformity with corporate investment policy and GAAP, statutory, and tax principles.
- Review and analyze components of underwriting results.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and compliant federal and state tax returns.
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
Qualifications for the Assistant Controller :
- A career reflecting the increasing responsibilities.
- Recent management of others in an Accounting department.
- Ability to review the work of other team members.
- Work history from both public & private companies.
- Strong understanding and utilization of GAAP.
Education Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
