POSITION SUMMARY :
The Lead Accounting Analyst is responsible for supporting the Controllership function which oversees the accounting group.
This role plays a key part in problem solving complex accounting challenges as they arise including performing accounting research and documenting conclusions as needed.
This role reports to the Technical Accounting Manager coupled with significant partnering with the Controller and other Managers, VPs and the CEO.
This role will also be responsible for reconciling higher risk general ledger accounts and recording journal entries. This position plays an integral role in closing the month timely and accurately.
All positions are responsible for following applicable company policies and procedures as defined by their manager.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist in global month / quarter / year end close and consolidation processes including detailed review and analysis of results*
- Work closely with Intricon subsidiaries to ensure financials are in accordance with US GAAP*
- Assist in reviewing, analyzing, and implementing process improvements
- Be the primary liaison for third party consultants such as audit and tax.*
- Support technical accounting research and drafting of technical accounting memos supporting the Company's position as it relates to the researched topics in accordance with GAAP
- Assist in new accounting pronouncement adoptions and related analysis / process modifications
- Support the annual insurance renewal process*
- Serve as a liaison for tax issues that arise including the annual tax provisions, tax returns, transfer pricing analysis, etc.*
- Assist in analyzing internal controls to ensure we are incompliance and implementing internal control improvements relevant to a private company
- Assist in an ERP implementation and user acceptance testing
- Support M&A work
- Lead month end close activities, including creating journal entries and reconciling high risk accounts.*
- Responsible for working with the payroll team to ensure accurate payroll accounting entries and analysis is understood and accounted for in accordance with GAAP.*
- Key participant or driver in system automation changes and upgrades
- Ad hoc projects and assignments - 1. Chart of Accounts update 2. Debt Interest Forecasting and schedules 3. Annual Business Survey's

QUALIFICATIONS : Education :
Education :
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience
- CPA preferred
Experience :
- 3-5 years of public accounting and / or industry experience that includes financial reporting and US GAAP
- Manufacturing industry
- Understanding of cost accounting basics including manufacturing variances and standard cost components
Skills :
- Technology - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook & PowerPoint; very strong Excel. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Working Habits - Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively. Must be able to multi-task, manage time well and meet critical deadlines.
- Communication - Excellent interpersonal & communications skills, both verbal and written; strong organizational skills.
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Employee is frequently required to talk or hear. Employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.
