As the Director of Sales & Marketing, you’ll develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue and room night sales goals, set and execute marketing strategies, and monitor results to ensure success.

Key Accountabilities

People Management :

Oversee daily sales activities, plan and assign work, ensuring optimal staffing.

Develop your team through coaching, feedback, and setting performance goals.

Train colleagues to achieve hotel revenue goals and provide necessary tools for effective work.

Foster a great working environment by connecting departments to create a sense of one team.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and external contacts to increase revenue.

Financial Responsibilities :

Achieve personal / team sales goals and maximize profitability.

Help prepare departmental budgets and financial plans, including the hotel marketing plan.

Create and implement sales plans to drive measurable incremental occupancy and revenue.

Produce monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze market trends and performance.

Organize special events and sales blitzes to showcase the hotel and attend trade shows to promote new business.

Guest Experience :

Enhance guest experience by providing information on loyalty programs, area attractions, and hotel services.

Coordinate conventions and business group activities with other departments.

Communicate all pertinent information and special needs for VIPs and key guests to appropriate departments.

Lead marketing efforts to upsell hotel services and amenities to guests.

Responsible Business :

Work closely with local business leaders and community groups to maintain high-profile exposure for the hotel.

Market sustainable or green hotel aspects to gain new business opportunities.

Collaborate with advertising agencies and vendors to maximize advertising investments and ensure brand identity.

Act as a hotel representative for media-related inquiries and raise local awareness of the hotel and brand.

Identify and implement improvements to marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance.

Key Skills & Experiences

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing or related field.

Four or more years of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting, with direct supervisory experience.

Strong knowledge of local businesses and market trends.

Proficiency in the local language(s); additional languages preferred.
