The Role : The Senior Accountant Tax & Reporting will be responsible for applying tax knowledge and accounting principles to execute senior-level day-to-day assigned duties with accuracy.
This role will help contribute to CPI’s high growth and entrepreneurial environment by ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations, as well as ensuring financial accuracy.
The Senior Accountant Tax & Reporting will collaborate with our private equity partners and external tax and audit advisors and have a strong understanding of tax regulations and US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
What You Get To Do Everyday : Prepare and review US sales and use tax reporting and foreign value-added taxes (VAT) / goods and services tax (GST) reporting;
manage all sales tax filings and inquiries, both internal and external. Serve as the point of contact for external tax consultants, prepare work papers, and support corporate tax filings, including foreign and domestic requirements.
Maintain the tax calendar, make estimated tax payments, assist with responding to notices from taxing authorities, and prepare monthly tax account reconciliations.
Support timely monthly, half-year, and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and external financial reporting requirements, including international financial reporting standards (IFRS) reporting to private equity partners.
Serve as the point of contact for external auditors, including preparing schedules, providing commentary on financial results and account variances, and preparing financial statements and footnotes in accordance with US GAAP.
Assist with other financial and regulatory reporting and compliance requirements, including debt reporting and covenant calculations.
Support various projects related to operating efficiency and financial reporting improvements. Utilize accounting technology systems to facilitate processes and maintain financial records.
Utilize tax engine software to address internal and external tax inquiries and maintain records. Research accounting and tax issues for compliance with GAAP and other regulations.
Perform other position-related duties as assigned. You Need to Have : Bachelor’s degree in accounting Three years or more of work experience in tax and accounting Experience working with GAAP, as well as corporate income tax regulations and foreign and domestic sales taxes Experience working with tax reporting tools like Avalara, GL software, Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations, and Microsoft Suite Knowledge of accounting and financial processes (financial closure, tax, reporting, etc.
