OITis seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to assist with our BIProgram. Ideally will have expertise in the following technicalareasaspects :
RequirementsGathering
Collaborateswith the business and with data analysts to understand requirementsand business objectives for relevant reports & visualizationsas well as underlying data model.
Capableof identifying relevant data sources and attributes for use inmodel
DataModeling :
Designingand documenting efficient conceptual logical and physical datamodels to support business requirements.
Understandshow to deliver row and columnlevel security within the Power BIsemanticmodel.
Needsto be able to establish reusable semantic data models within PowerBI.
Familiaritywith running tabular Editor Best Practice Analyzer for adhering tomodeling and DAX bestpractices.
Creatingrelationships between tables and optimizing datastructures.
DataSource ConnectivitySetup :
Connectingto various data sources (APIs Big Query ArcGIS map and featurelayers SQL databases Excel files etc.) including streamingdatasets.
Ensuringseamless data extraction andtransformation.
Collaboratingwith the members of OIT Integrations team to ascertain availableintegration patterns.
DAXFormulas :
Proficiencyin writing DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)formulas.
Calculatedcolumns measures and customcalculations.
ReportCreation :
Designingand developing interactive and visually appealing reports anddashboards.
Incorporatingslicers visuals and drillthrough functionality including streamingand ArcGISvisuals.
Needsto be cognizant of and adhere to accessibility standards (section508).
Capableof optimizing Power BI reports or making suggestions to underlyingdata model for performance including the use of DAX Studio andbuilt in Power BI performancetools.
Itis expected that the developer will follow organizational patternsfor source and version control for Power BI files and be able toutilize Azure DevOps as appropriate within that process.
Thisengagement is expected to exceed 12 months in duration.
WhileOIT supports telecommuting / remote work it is expected that thecontractor performs the work within the State of Colorado andpreferably in the Denver Metropolitan Area;
there will be occasionswhere the contractor will have to collaborate with their colleaguesand attend inperson meetings in one of the State offices.
