TSINY is looking for Assistant Program Director for Counseling and Crisis Center with one of our mental health Outpatient programs located in Jamaica (Queens), NY.

Salary : $75,000 annually, generous Benefits Programs

Position Summary

Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Clinic, ensuring that the therapeutic and psychiatric needs of clients with psychiatric and with co-occurring disorders are met, and State and City guidelines and operating standards are carried out and maintained.

Serve as primary therapist to a limited group of clients.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise assigned staff.
  • Ensure that program is in compliance with SOMH / DOHMH requirements to maintain certification.
  • Review treatment plans, progress notes and other documentation of staff.
  • Review intakes and assign to appropriate staff.
  • Provide training and orientation to new staff.
  • Participate in ensuring eligibility of insurance for clients, including pre-authorization status and oversee Program Assistant's efforts to conduct batch billing.
  • Oversee the scheduling of appointments by social work staff.
  • Oversee the scheduling of appointments for psychiatrists.
  • Participate in chart review.
  • Participate in policy development to ensure smooth operation of the Clinic.
  • Assist with coordinating billing of client visits by reviewing support staff verifications.
  • Assists in the training of staff.
  • Supervise staff in the absence of the Clinic Director.
  • Maintain caseload of approximately 20 patients.
  • Carry out all essential functions as listed in the Clinic Social Worker job description.

  • complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes, including personal hygiene.
  • be able to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of issues
  • possess the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, residents, families, professional and the general public.
  • possess ability to communicate sensitive information to principals and client
  • be able to lift items up to 25 pounds
  • Be able to sit or stand as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May require walking, primarily on a level surface, for short periods throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Be able to reach above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Driver's license preferred.
  • During a declared disaster, assume and adhere to assigned Job Action role(s) consistent with Disaster Preparedness Plan.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Experience / Education / Skills / Abilities

MSW degree plus an LCSW with three years' experience as a Clinical Supervisor.
