Division / Department Information

The Department of Psychology at St. John’s University is seeking applicants for a full-time non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor to begin fall 2024.

Non-tenure track faculty positions are 1-year renewable contracts and salary will be dependent upon position and qualifications.

The selected candidate will teach four courses / semester in our undergraduate and graduate programs at our Queens Campus.

The department is eager to attract candidates that represent the rich diversity of the students we proudly serve in the New York Metropolitan area. In addition, we seek

candidates who, through their research, teaching, and / or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.

Responsibilities

The Division is looking for candidates who can support our graduate and undergraduate courses in behavior analysis within the Department of Psychology.

The successful candidate will primarily engage in teaching a diverse array of students. Student advisement and active participation in departmental and college events and committees will be required.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a doctorate in psychology, preferably with BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) or BCBA-D (Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral), and licensed or licensed eligible to practice as a psychologist in NY.

Candidates must show evidence of professional and scholarly activity, teaching excellence, and student engagement. Selected applicants will teach courses in functional behavioral assessment, principles of behavior, and research methodology and other courses according to departmental need.

Intended Start Date : January 22, 2025

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000. St. John’s University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

This position may be relocated to any of St. John’s University’s physical locations at any time.
