The Sr Systems Administrator will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remotely. This resource will participate in an on-call rotation.
The Sr Systems Administrator will be a part of our Infrastructure and Cloud Operations Team. Working collaboratively the Sr Systems Administrator is expected to support an environment that is both on-premises and in the cloud (Azure).
You will develop best practices, bringing your experience to bear on the challenges we face as we transition to the cloud.
- Manage the data center hosting operations & Window Server Infrastructure for a regional Data Center.
- You will work on Windows Server Administration and manage Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP & server (Dell / HPE UCS) hardware.
- Configure, Deploy and manage virtual server environments including VMware and Hyper-V cluster deployments and other like virtual servers.
- Deploy and manage Windows servers.
- Develop scripting for (IAC) cloud development / deployment and experience in one or more scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
- The Sr Systems Administrator will use their knowledge of Data Center technologies in managing Data Center operations and gradually migrate to managing cloud (Azure).
- Manage Windows File & Print Servers.
- Responsible for installing and troubleshooting Windows based applications, Windows patching tools like SCCOM server, Qualys, In-Tune and Windows security standards & OS Hardening concepts.
- This role will be accountable for monitoring tools like SCCOM and SolarWinds.
Requirements :
- 10+ years as a hand’s on Systems Administrator in Windows environments.
- Advanced experience with Active Directory (including Azure Active Directory), Group Policy, DNS, networking, security, patching etc.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere / vCenter for managing enterprise scale VM infrastructure, ensuring availability, performance and scalability.
- Design, implementation, and management experience in virtual environments
- Experience in monitoring virtual environments, including physical servers, virtual servers, Windows and Linux, and SAN
- Scripting experience with PowerShell or similar
- Hands-on expertise with network protocols, VPNs, firewalls, access controls, encryption, vulnerability testing, and keeping architecture secure
- Experience with Azure Cloud services including IAC
- Administrator with recent hands-on development experience
- Technical build out of POCs (Proof of Concepts)
- Advanced knowledge of distributed software systems, design patterns and architecture principles
- Experience working in Agile environments
