School-Based Youth Leadership Council Coordinator
Job Title : Coordinator, School-Based Youth Leadership Council
Reports To : Program Manager
Location : Tulsa, OK
Status : Full-time, exempt
Salary Range : $40,000-$50,000
Amplify Youth Health Collective (Amplify) seeks a full-time School-Based Youth Leadership Council (YLC) Coordinator with a high level of initiative and exceptional organizational skills.
This role will oversee program design and evaluation, recruitment of new YLC members for school-based councils, and facilitate logistics for the school-based YLC program implementation at school sites.
The School-Based YLC Coordinator will report to the Program Manager and maintain close communication with Amplify’s Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Project Manager.
The School-Based YLC Coordinator will have a minimum of two years’ experience coordinating youth programming, and must be detail-oriented, flexible, and enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial, mission-focused, community-oriented environment.
Since 2015, Amplify has facilitated a Youth Leadership Council to develop leadership and advocacy skills and infuse youth voice into programming for Amplify and our partners.
We specifically recruit young leaders from vulnerable communities to serve as advocates and consultants in our work. Amplify regularly consults the YLC to obtain feedback and guidance related to initiatives, programs, and unmet needs.
The YLC receives training to serve as trusted peer resources and sexual health leaders within their schools, families, and communities.
YLC members direct annual impact projects, including oversight of their own program budget. Amplify is expanding the current community-based YLC model to grow members' leadership capacity through opportunities with partner organizations and the community by implementing school-based YLCs to increase the number of peer sexual health advocates available to Tulsa's teens.
Amplify fosters a culture of kindness, integrity, innovation, collaboration, and equity. Our values inform the way we work together internally and with our community partners.
Candidates must exhibit dedication and commitment to the young people of Tulsa, and a strong commitment to the mission, goals, and values of Amplify.
