POSITION SUMMARY

PM Environmental, a Pinchin Company, is seeking a Field Scientist to join our Leaking Underground Storage Tank or Site Investigative Services team, working out of our Berkley, Michigan office.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

The Field Scientist is responsible for the following primary functions :

• Conducting various field tasks including but not limited to sampling of soil, water, vapor, and other media
• Oversight of soil boring advancement and the installation of monitoring wells
• Oversight of Leaking Underground Storage Tank removals, excavations, and demolitions
• Remediation system installations and maintenance
• Surveying and mapping
• Other job duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related science field
• Entry level position requiring no professional experience
• Must be comfortable driving trucks and trailers
• Must be able to work outdoors in all climates and weather conditions, and be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be available for overtime and travel
• The ideal candidate must be dependable and have excellent communication skills
• Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• 40-hour OSHA HazWoper 29 CFR 1910.120 training preferred, but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl .

The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to fifty pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision.
