Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Graduate Engineer to join our team in our Fort Worth, TX office.

Candidates must have a willingness to perform a variety of structural engineering tasks supporting various project types and project managers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of a Licensed Professional Engineer, performs structural engineering design and project coordination tasks.
Duties and level of responsibility on tasks will vary based on experience level but will include :
- Design of various structural elements (bridges, retaining walls, and other miscellaneous structures) on infrastructure and private development projects
- Manage and develop plans and models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Geopak, MicroStation OpenRoads Designer
- Prepare detailed design calculations and construction drawings for bridges, retaining walls, and other miscellaneous structures
- Identification of and adherence to governing codes for structural design of various elements
- Prepare construction cost estimates / quantity takeoffs
- Field reviews and construction inspections
- Creation and submission of technical reports, presentations, exhibits and design calculations
- Perform engineering calculations / analyses
- Coordinate with government entities, utility service providers and subconsultants
- Manage task assignments for budget and schedule adherence
- Review and approves project submittals, RFIs and supports field activities during construction.
- Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects.
- Day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers.

Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil / structural engineering from an ABET accredited college.
- Master’s degree in structural engineering (Highly Preferred)
- 0-4 years of relevant experience in structural engineering design
- EIT / FE certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year is preferred.
- Familiar with applicable codes and standards (AASHTO LRFD, AISC 360, ACI 318, IBC, ASCE 7).
- TxDOT familiarity and experience is a plus
- Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles
- Ability to apply structural engineering principles to design of various elements
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, a must.
- Familiarity with structural engineering software, such as Mathcad, STAAD, RISA, LPile, Midas, Sofistik, Leap Bridge Concrete, and SPcolumn
- AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting experience a plus.
- Effective verbal communication and technical writing skills.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and check the quality of own and others’ work.
- Ability to use sound engineering judgment.
- Minimal travel possible.
