Job Summary
- Provide direct nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Promote safe care through evidence-based practices as the RN Circulator
- Support the surgical team in maintaining a high level of sterility
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, and age-related needs
- Review charts for completeness before and after procedures
- Adhere to health and safety standards
- Communicate with patients, teammates, and physicians for continuity of care
- Prepare the operating room for surgery
- Monitor patient vital signs and sterilize the operating room
- Position and prepare patients on the operating table
- Pass medical instruments to surgeons during operation
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with CT Department of Public Health license
- Current BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association
- 2 years' experience as an Operating Room Nurse
- Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
- Strong understanding of patient safety and surgical procedures
- Team player with excellent communication and time management skills
- Associate degree required, BSN preferred
