Broad Description of Duties :
The Cook will be able to ensure consistent food quality by preparing orders in a fast-paced environment while following recipes and guidelines established by the Food and Beverage department.
You will provide superior quality food while maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment as a member of the Marcus Theatres food & beverage team.
This position reports to : Kitchen Manager and / or General Manager (varies by location).
Essential Functions / Job Duties :
- Prepare and cook all food items according to recipe specifications in a timely manner
- Correctly store food, properly rotate and date
- Maintain sanitary standards, before, during, and after service including a high level of cleanliness, sanitation and personal hygiene
- Determine inventory of food items and amounts needed for service expected
- Set up equipment needed for preparation prior to service
- Maintain high quality level of food production and presentation
- Responsible for set up station, breakdown, and all necessary advance prep
- Properly label and put away all food that has not been served during a shift
- Make sure coolers are cleaned, organized and locked after work if finished
- Be able to perform and fill out duties as laid out on checklists and prep sheets.
- Perform other such duties as may be assigned Kitchen Manager or General Manager

Job Requirements :
- Flexible and accessible work schedule that includes late evenings, weekends and holidays as dictated by business needs
- Some exposure to the food & beverage industry, preferred
- The ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, team environment
- Have a passion for delivering unparalleled hospitality and high quality food & service
- Positive attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to read tickets to produce orders
- Ability handle kitchen equipment and food items
- Assist in control of food waste
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and / or hear, and / or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
The employee is required to stand, and / or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
