CDM Smith is looking for a Water Resources Engineer with experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of wastewater collection systems and stormwater drainage systems for a diverse portfolio of local and regional clients.
The candidate should have 7 or more years of relevant experience with PE licensure and be able to perform basic to high complexity GIS analyses, hydraulic calculations, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, data analysis, and report writing.
On site evaluations and / or other field work supporting water resources projects may be required.
Competency with Microsoft Office products, ArcGIS software and specific hydrologic and hydraulic software programs (ex. EPA SWMM, PCSWMM, Mike Urban MOUSE or Infoworks ICM) is required.
Additional expertise with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Microsoft Excel, other programming languages like Phyton or R for data analysis, and software for visualization (ex.
Microsoft Power BI) is desired.
The ideal candidate is driven, detail-oriented, highly organized, and has outstanding writing and communications skills for client interactions, preparation and checking of final deliverables, and to provide technical guidance and training to other mid-level and junior staff.
Other responsibilities include review of work products from more junior staff, collaboration with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs), and review of draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices.
The candidate contributes to the firm by developing white papers, technical guidance, and lessons learned documentation of new or special case projects, submits technical papers for publishing to technical journals, and attends conferences, symposia, etc.
to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
