The Senior Manager, Camping Program is an integral member of the camping program team who is accountable for managing all aspects of program delivery for the camp pathway, including development of an integrated program delivery plan that focuses on overnight camp and outdoor adventure programs.
This position is responsible for interviewing and hiring all the seasonal staff for Camp Tuckaho. Additionally, this position is responsible for sustaining and growing camper participation in the Council’s overnight camp programs at Camp Tuckaho.

The Senior Manager, Camping Program is required to live on the grounds of Camp Tuckaho throughout the Overnight Camp season (late May-August).

Job experience is considered with salary offer; the minimum starting salary for this position is $53,680 .
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Works in collaboration with other Senior Managers to provide a coordinated program and consistent implementation of all camping programs.
- Designs, develops, and implements Camp Tuckaho overnight camp programs and large-scale camp trainings ensuring that adults are trained and prepared to lead campers in the outdoors.
Ensures that related program components are consistent with national curricula and grade level, and content meets needs, interests, and preferences of current and prospective camper participants.
- Serves as on-site camp director of Camp Tuckaho Overnight Camp.
- Designs, develops and implements outdoor adventure programs, ensuring that related program components are consistent with national curricula and grade level, and content meets needs, interests and preferences of current and prospective camper participants.
- Works with the Answer Center to troubleshoot issues and in providing an efficient process for members.
- Operates two camping program cost centers within approved resources and provides acceptable explanations for any material variances.
- Ensures camp program activities meet developmental, educational, emotional, and social needs and interest of campers; works collaboratively with data team to ensure outcome studies are performed on related leadership program offerings.
- Prepares and maintains camp operations to meet American Camp Association standards for accreditation.
- Develops and manages program budget for areas of responsibility; orders supplies and / or services in compliance with Council purchasing procedures.
- Supervises all seasonal and camp-related program staff and / or volunteers for overnight camp, including recruitment, selection, placement, training, development, and release.
- Leads development and implementation of training for seasonal staff and high adventure staff.
- Promotes a positive work environment and high staff morale through staff communication and staff development activities.
- Supports organizational diversity and fund development goals of the Council.
- Maintains Core Competencies’ standards.
- Consistently demonstrates a climate of courtesy, respect and professionalism to caregivers, staff, volunteers, members, and the public.
- Responsible for sustaining and growing camper participation in camping programs working in collaboration with Marketing on the implementation of a robust plan for attracting campers to camp programs.
