Summary :

The Analyst, Risk I will support the oversight of the firm’s operational risk management strategy by assisting risk management related projects and the ongoing develop efforts to monitor and assess the effectiveness of controls.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :

Facilitate the maintenance of Risk and Control libraries with business areas within Origination and Servicing.

Perform control testing activities to support the residual risk level assessment of an area or process.

Assist Risk Manager(s) in the completion and content of a Risk and Control Self-Assessments and in the development, communication, and implementation of the risk management framework and associated risk methodologies.

Assist with special projects of varying topics and degrees of sensitivity, as needed.

Ensure documented procedures within Operations Risk remain current and maintained.

Be aware and knowledgeable of the mortgage industry risk trends, requirements.

Responsible to ensure clear, concise, and effective communication is at the core of all communication to business partners and senior management.

Ability to multitask and be extremely flexible in the workday activities.

Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Other Job Duties and Responsibilities :

Qualifications :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

Able to read, interpret, apply, and communicate policies and procedures that may be complex.

Prior Mortgage experience preferred.

Ability to work in a team environment, recognizes and acts on changing priorities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Familiar with a variety of mortgage banking concepts, practices, procedures and understanding compliance regulations.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Identify gap analysis of controls to weaknesses.

Strong ability to manage time and multitask.

Strong project management skills must be operations oriented.

Education and / or Experience :

Bachelor’s Degree from a Four (4) year College or University preferred and three (3) years of risk analysis or related field.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :

None Required

Work Complexity :

Problems and issues faced are general, and may require understanding of broader set of issues but typically are not complex.

May require familiarity with the financial / mortgage (or job-specific) industry. Problems require understanding of other job areas.

Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experiences, with analysis of the issue
