Position Summary

Coordinates all aspects of the Value Analysis program. Works closely with all Kootenai Health entities, to include Kootenai Outpatient Surgery, Kootenai Clinic, Urgent Care Centers and Critical Access Hospitals to process new item requests, conversions, savings opportunities, and oversee trials of disposable medical products.

Reports to the Manager of Value Analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all new item requests and product conversions for medical supply products
  • Partners with vendors and staff to identify product conversion and savings opportunities
  • Conducts assessment of cost savings opportunities for new item requests and product conversions
  • Works closely with Supply Chain leaders to ensure item numbers are created and both unit of measure and inventory levels are established for new item requests / product conversions
  • Coordinates Value Analysis meetings for Kootenai Health and affiliated entities
  • Responsible for managing product trials, to include procuring samples, tracking feedback and trial outcomes
  • Invests time weekly on the nursing floors proactively finding solutions unrelated to active initiatives
  • Ensures the integrity of project data to effectively inform data analytics for leadership consideration
  • Extracts, stores, manipulates, and processes data using software to inform Value Analysis processes
  • Works with Supply Chain leaders to assess contract renewals, negotiations, terminations, standardization, and / or extensions to identify medical supply standardization and / or savings opportunities
  • Reviews and abides by all Kootenai Health Professional Nursing Staff Bylaws and professional nursing requirements
  • Works under broad supervision
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

  • State of Idaho Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho
  • 2 years’ clinical experience
  • Experience with healthcare MMIS in a hospital setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related or financial field
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized with robust analytical skills including utilizing advanced Excel applications
  • Able to work in collaborative and cooperative environment

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to maintain a standing and / or sitting position
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical job
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend
