Job Description
ASRC Federal NetCentric Technology, LLC is seeking an Environmental Manager to support environmental compliance activities under the Kirtland AFB Engineering Operations Services (KEOS) contract in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Job Summary
The Environmental Manager must have an extensive knowledge of conducting environmental inspections within industrial shops, identifying areas of environmental noncompliance, and developing corrective action plans.
They must have the ability to navigate the intricate details of environmental compliance and environmental regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Supervise a team of specialists in support of contract requirements.
- Know and enact environmental protocols for hazardous materials, hazardous waste, air emissions, storm water, solid waste, natural and cultural resources, storage tanks, asbestos, and lead-based paint.
- Provide support for environmental spill response, cleanup, and reporting.
- May have to work in enclosed areas or in a field environment.
- Complete revisions to plans, standard operating procedures, and other regulatory documents.
- Ensure proper collection and turn-in of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes and materials to maintain compliance with all hazardous waste collection and turn-in procedures.
Turn-in procedures shall comply with all current Federal, State, and local environmental rules and regulations listed in the contract.
- Work with the Environmental Management System (EMS) Cross-Functional Team.
- Develop environmental objectives and targets to achieve desired environmental program initiatives.
- Assist with program-level self-assessment to assess compliance with all Federal, State, local and Air Force environmental regulations and laws.
- Review construction project requirements to help ensure environmental compliance from third-party contractors.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures in compliance with legal codes and regulations.
- Communicate and coordinate among program, project, customer, and supporting staffs.
- Analyze potential issues / problems and develop corrective actions for their resolutions.
- Prepare and present briefings to internal and external customers.
- Additional environmental services as assigned.
- This is an on-call position responsible for responding to the customer during and after duty hours.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor of Science degree in applied science (Architectural / Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Planning, or related degree).
- Minimum five years of related experience with at least two years working in the environmental compliance field to include working knowledge of NEPA processes.
- Be experienced in conducting environmental inspections within industrial shops, identifying areas of environmental noncompliance, and developing corrective action plans.
- Minimum one year experience as a supervisor.
- Experience building and managing relationships with a variety of cross-functional partners.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government-issued secret security clearance.
- Be proficient in using Microsoft Office 365 software suite.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
- Must maintain a valid US driver's license.
- Have ability to perform repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.
- Be committed to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Management.
- Three or more years of experience at a US military installation, other government agency, or similar size and scope facility complex / campus.
