Description
Under limited supervision, the Project Manager provides project management support for a variety of projects and programs.
- This position is responsible for the administration, enforcement, and compliance with local ordinances, federal and state rules and laws regulating areas of environmental regulation;
- managing project costs, managing contracted consultants; coordinating with staff associated with project implementation;
and planning and setting objectives and goals that support overall City business results.
Posted pay range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.
Examples of Duties
- Oversees the City's compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations governing the various environmental programs which includes the Water Quality, Air Quality, and MS4 program.
- Monitors / controls department projects through administrative direction to ensure the quality of the project being managed;
assists with inspections and oversees compliance with state and other regulations.
- Creates, oversees, and manages the master progress schedule to meet all time objectives; uses project management principles in planning and closing projects
- Monitors quality and progress of project staff, architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors and other professionals to ensure scope, budget, schedule and quality is met.
- Organizes and creates documents for public bids and Request for Proposals (RFPs); assists in establishing initial budgets, review of estimates, and solicitation of bids to meet budget requirements and maintain cost effectiveness.
- Reviews and approves contracts; prepares budget and financial reporting to manage financial aspects of contracts.
Experience and Training
- Four (4) years of related experience.
- Associate degree or higher may substitute for 2 years of required work experience.
Certificates and Licenses Required
Texas Class C driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
