JOB SUMMARY
An independent, locally governed non-profit healthcare organization is seeking a full-time pre-op procedural DT nurse for their facility in Naples, FL.
The nurse will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients, assuming teaching and leadership responsibilities, and participating in unit committee and quality improvement activities.
Minimal supervision is needed for this role.
- Locating and documenting medical and nursing patient care information
- Performing thorough admission assessments
- Delivering patient care and treatment using problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Administering medication safely and accurately
- Initiating and coordinating patient / family teaching using individualized effective teaching methods
- Evaluating outcomes of care to determine if patient needs were met
- Completing computerized documentation and paper forms fully and legibly
- Providing feedback regarding problems and complaints and offering constructive suggestions
- Following hospital standards related to Infor system
- Attending courses and in-services offered, maintaining clinical skills specifically required on unit, and maintaining knowledge of current policies
- Maintaining communication with patient family / significant other as patient progresses through continuum of care
- Identifying standards of care common to patient population, i.e. age specifics and barriers to learning
- Assisting as needed in all peri-anesthesia settings including the preoperative area, PACU, and the Endoscopy PACU
- Maintaining the principles of confidentiality and HIPPA
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida
- Experience as required in posting for dept.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Intermediate computer knowledge : Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
