Description
Parsons Corporation has an immediate opening for an experienced Principal-level Civil Roadway & Highway Engineer. This role is for supporting design engineering of various Michigan DOT projects, as well as surrounding regional projects.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering functions of the projects including coordination of technical disciplines and development of project alternatives, and preliminary and final design
- Design horizontal and vertical roadway alignments, and super elevation diagrams
- Design of ramps, interchanges, and road apertures
- Perform quantity calculations project estimates
- Managing Associate Engineers in completing project deliverables
- Develop details to construction, detour, signing and marking, as well as erosion control drawings
- Coordinate with project team and interdisciplinary technical personnel
- Assists the project manager in completing the project deliverables
- Ensures project is adhering to client criteria and scope
- Assist in preparing technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management
- Assist in obtaining, analyzing, and circulating technical and contractual information to project disciplines
- May be responsible for the scope development, scope management and commercial performance of projects to meet project goals and objectives
- Assist functional managers to identify company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work
- Assist in identifying new project pursuits, gathers intelligence regarding these pursuits, participates in Parsons’ pursuit process, and may lead response to client requests for proposals / qualifications
What Skills & Qualifications You'll Bring :
- 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 10 years or more of related work experience
- Roadway & Highway design experience with state DOT or Federal Highway projects
- Geometric alignments design
- Microstation experience is essential, either with Inroads, OpenRoads, or Geopak
- Professional Engineer (PE) is highly preferred

Salary Range :
