The Principal Designer- Piping is responsible for performing detailed design activities in the Piping discipline.
Essential Functions
- Perform complex designs and layouts of Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Piping Plans, Sections & Isometrics and Piping Bill of Materials utilizing CAD hardware and software.
- Review vendor drawings and information.
- Train and direct designers and other CAD personnel.
- Ability to function in lead role on projects.
Qualifications
- 5 years of CAD experience
- 10 or more years of design experience in a drafting environment developing Piping & Instrument Designs (P&IDs), piping plans and sections and piping bills of materials.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards
- Previous project leadership preferred
- Experience in piping projects for pipeline companies and / or upstream companies’ compressor stations, pump stations and facilities preferred
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Recent version of AutoCAD and CadWorx
- Microsoft Excel
Education
- High school diploma required
- Associates Degree or certification from technical trade preferred

Work Environment / Physical Demands
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Frequent sitting and operating a computer.
- Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or office materials.

- Physical demands requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work.
