Job Function : This position is primarily responsible for sourcing, contract management, and spend management for assigned groups within the National Office.

This position reports to the Associate Director and is an individual contributor with no direct reports. Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the competitive bid processes for purchases requested by assigned departments, including drafting requests for proposals (RFPs), evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through competitive bidding, bulk purchasing, and vendor consolidation.
  • Perform bid analysis, reporting, and benchmarking for internal partners, as needed.
  • Analyze organizational spend data to identify areas for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Maintain reports and metrics to track procurement performance against targets.
  • Build relationships with key internal stakeholders and suppliers to identify opportunities for improvement, drive best practices, ensure procurement compliance, and manage issues.
  • Assist in management of the supplier master database, to include monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and close processes, as well as scheduled review and clean up tasks.
  • Assist in creation, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the supplier management program to include supplier evaluation and classification, coordination of receipt of required documentation and completion of review process as needed.
  • Leads and / or assist the director of purchasing & procurement with all internal and external audit discussions, compilation of documentation, and development & execution of management action plans to address audit findings / discoveries.
  • Support leadership in the development of a Supplier Diversity Program at the National Office. Partner with advocacy teams and Purchasing staff in the development of guidelines, metrics, buying practices, and procedures that provide a clear and consistent opportunity for national office staff and contractors representing the NCAA to source the services of qualified diverse suppliers.
  • Monitor the NCAA Purchase card program to ensure optimal and compliant use of the purchasing card while adhering to the process for reconciling purchase card transactions against respective statements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Annual salary approximately $80,000.
  • Education Required High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years strategic procurement and / or financial analysis experience in organization of comparable or larger size.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Financials and Purchasing system preferred.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while on time constraints.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems and bring new ideas to the process.
  • Experience in Windows environment with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Estimated Travel Required
  • This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.

Experience

Preferred

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Financials and Purchasing system strongly preferred.
