Job Description
The Utah State Office of Rehabilitation (USOR) within the Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to fill the position of Vocational Rehabilitation Technician in our Northern District.
The individual in this position will support and assist the team of Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors while working from the Logan and Brigham City offices.
Principle Duties
The Vocational Rehabilitation Technician will perform the following tasks :
- Effectively provide support services to Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Counselors.
- Communicate effectively with VR Counselors regarding contact with clients, case management and follow up.
- Provide welcome-sessions to individuals interested in Vocational Rehabilitation services.
- Assist with data entry and document attachment in the AWARE case management system.
- Provide additional assistance with answering incoming calls and directing in office traffic.
- Track dashboard reports and provide timely and accurate information to counseling staff.
- Attend community events and committees as assigned.
- Track and organize all incoming medical and psychological records for counseling staff.
- Contact clients to obtain progress updates and schedule appointments.
- Complete, send, scan and follow up on initial releases of information.
- Assist with case management activities under the direction and guidance of VR Counselors.
- Function as a paraprofessional and assist with the needs of the district and more specifically the needs of the counselors.
- Provide occasional reader services for employees with visual impairments.
Preference
Preference may be given for the following :
An associate degree or higher in a human services, social work, special education, a related field of study and / or related work experience.
A degree is not required for this position.
