About The Position
Job Title : Radiologic Technologist Job Specialty : Diagnostic Radiology General Procedures Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day - 5x8 - 08 : 00AM - 04 : 00PM, 40 hours per week Guaranteed Hours : 32 hours per week Experience : One year of current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology is preferred.
Clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year of current clinical experience. License : State license as a Radiographer is required.
Certifications : - ARRT registered RT (R) in diagnostic radiology - American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire Must-Have : - Self-motivated with the ability to organize and prioritize well - Flexible and able to re-prioritize when emergencies arise - Proficiency in EPIC - Customer service oriented Job Description : Prepare patients and perform radiographic procedures in diagnostic radiology.
- Operate imaging equipment and adhere to safety standards.- Perform diagnostic studies according to guidelines and protocols with appropriate radiation protection measures.
- Maintain positive and effective interaction and communication with patients, visitors, and staff.- Perform ancillary services and assist in patient care areas as necessary.
- Accurately and efficiently perform radiologic / fluoroscopic procedures with minimal discomfort to patients.- Interview patients to obtain personal medical history and document information into RIS.
- Provide radiation protection to self and patients in accordance with ALARA standards.- Select technical factors to produce images of maximum diagnostic quality, with minimal repeats.
- Review each study for technical accuracy and ensure correct image identification.- Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure appropriate scheduling and throughput of exams.
- Assist in patient transportation as needed.- Communicate and collaborate with radiologists and ordering providers for guidance and order clarification.
- Approve images, match orders to images, and archive to PACS.- Perform PACS reconciliations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Document fluoroscopy time and estimated skin exposure for studies.- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling reassignment and shift rotations to support department needs.
- Proactively seek opportunities to increase department efficiency and provide a cohesive work environment.- Mentor and act as a role model for staff, students, interns, providers, and visitors.
- Assist in onboarding new employees.- Report equipment issues and provide minor troubleshooting.- Maintain a clean staff work area, stock supplies, and linens.
Candidates must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently. Education-wise, post-high school completion of an ARRT accredited Radiologic Technology program is required, with additional college / university coursework or a healthcare-related undergraduate degree preferred, but not required.
