Job Summary and Qualifications
- Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique / treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care / service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs
- Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed Assesses patients throughout procedures and responds to patient needs as appropriate
- Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed, including all computer and PACS functions
- Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff
- Demonstrates knowledge of universal protocols, and uses professional judgment and critical thinking skills when assisting with procedures
- Assists Medical Sonographer with performing sonograms including Ob / Gyn, abdominal, cerebral, vascular, pediatrics, small part scans, and other necessary studies
- Participates in the improvement of operational functions of the department
- Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care and practices identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration
- Performs other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need :
Required Registration, Licensure or Certification : Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through the American Heart Assoc.
or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR
Required Education or Experience : High School Diploma or GED & Must be enrolled in and in the final semester of an accredited school of ultrasound or completed approved school of ultrasound (pending hire as a Sonographer)
