In pursuit of this mission, we are hiring a curricular resource and professional development specialist. The Curricular Resource Manager and Professional Development Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement, organization, distribution, and inventory of curriculum materials, as well as coordinating professional development opportunities for educators.

This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree required, or other criteria as acceptable to the Lansing Board of Education.
  • Three (3) or more years of successful work experience in office or educational setting; The ability to establish good working relationships with school staff, administrators, and other community partners;

desired prior experience in supporting a senior executive or team

  • Good attendance record
  • Experience working with budgets, E-Finance, and online MDE tools.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint; Ability to multitask and handle a large-volume workload
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive issues and materials in an appropriate
  • Capability to effectively communicate verbally during presentation to school staff,
  • administrators, board members, and community partners
  • Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred with education experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate curricular materials, including textbooks and resources, in alignment with educational standards and goals, working both in the warehouse and school buildings.
  • Collaborate with instructional directors, operations teams, and warehouse staff to maintain efficient inventory and distribution systems for curriculum materials.
  • Oversee asset tagging, inventory processes, and removal of outdated curriculum from schools and warehouses, including physically lifting and moving boxes up to 50 pounds, and driving resources between schools.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as preparing purchase orders, managing budgets, and submitting reports with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate professional development logistics, including scheduling, event planning, and tracking attendance for district initiatives.
  • Collaborate with departments and staff on professional development, curriculum management, and district initiatives, ensuring timely communication and support.
  • Track and report professional development data, including stipends, certification, and compliance requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods, to support district operations.
