Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. HR Director or designee, the HR Intern will be an active participant in the implementation of a new digitized document management platform to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance for all employee records.
In this role, the Intern will partner with key members of the HR Team to learn the new platform, train users, and maximize the functionality for use.
This role will include scanning and other clerical functions in addition to participating in other key initiatives to improve efficiency across all Human Resource teams.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following :
- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors.
- Develop solid understanding of system functionality of the platform
- Will act as a Super User of the system to train and support users
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations to maximize functionality of platform.
- Participate in other HR initiatives centered around process improvement
- Create PowerPoint presentations and communications.
- Assist with routine HR activities / duties as needed such as answering phoned and routing messages, where appropriate.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Utilize Excel and PowerPoint for various projects and tasks.
- Attend staff meetings, including event meetings and team meetings.
- Conduct research on department-related topics to support initiatives.
- Assist with planning logistics for department activities and events.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
Required : Currently enrolled in a degree program in Human Resources or a closely related field

Physical / Mental Demands / Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to sit and / or stand for long periods of time (meeting / event attendance, or at a computer).
- Ability to speak clearly and with the volume required to carry on clear conversations in person, over the phone and at public events.
- Must be able to travel to and from Main Hospital Campus, Offsite facilities and other event and venue meeting locations.
