AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED
Individual positions may be responsible for some or all of the listed duties and / or other related duties Monitor students in the use and care of equipment to prevent injuries Observe, record, and maintain student files per Federal, State, and Agency policies Provide Assistance in lifting and caring for students which may include toileting, feeding, and hygiene Transport students to and from activities / appointments when necessary Continue professional growth through training sessions / workshops.
Education Required : Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures Behavior management techniques Computer programs / software and office equipment relevant to position CPR / First Aid High School Diploma.
Education Preferred : Certified Health Assistant Associates Degree OR completion of units of college coursework OR a valid Paraprofessional certification Current CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention Training certifications or ability to obtain within required timeline.
Additional Information : This position is for the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf Campus located at th and Northern in Phoenix, AZ.
Population served with be Deaf, or DeafBlind students grades K- with additional disabilities and health needs. Could include g-tube, trach, wheelchair, AAC devices, PT equipment who will need assistance with feeding, hygiene, diapering, toileting, mobility, etc.
