We are seeking a dedicated Transfer Paralegal to join our Transfers Department in a role that combines legal expertise with compassionate client interactions.
This position is perfect for a skilled, customer-focused professional ready to make a meaningful impact by guiding families through ownership transfer processes and providing high-quality legal support.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Key Responsibilities :
Client Consultation : Conduct phone and face-to-face consultations with families to explain ownership transfer procedures and answer questions.
Document Preparation : Prepare transfer-related documents, notarize signatures, and manage cemetery records with accuracy.
Ownership Verification : Identify property owners and, where applicable, construct family trees to determine heirs.
Database Management : Perform and verify data entry in internal systems related to ownership transfers.
Legal Documentation : Collaborate with the Memorial Counseling Department and Legal Department as needed to validate health care directives, Living Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, etc.
Customer Service : Provide individual consideration and make sound recommendations, all while balancing multiple clerical functions under strict timelines.
Requirements :
Active ABA-Approved Paralegal Certificate
Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
Proficiency with legal document preparation and notarization
