Position : Senior Network Administrator
Location : onsite Schofield Barracks, HI
Duration : 5-year contract
Pay Rate : $60-66 / hour (depending on experience)
Must Haves :
- Active Top-Secret SCI (TS / SCI) Security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience or master’s degree with 10 years of experience
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II / 8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification
- IAT II 8570 / 8140 Baseline Certification : Security+ or equivalent
- Required Computing Environment Certification : CCNA, CCNA-Security, CCNP, CCIE, MCSA Windows Server 2012, Solaris 10, Linux+, VCP5, Azure Administrator Fundamentals, etc.
- Network troubleshooting and support experience
- Extensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software
- Desktop operating systems and applications understanding / experience
Day-to-Day :
- Responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of the company’s local area network.
- Studies contractor products to determine those which best meet company needs; assists in presentation of information to management resulting in purchase and installation of hardware, software, and telecommunication equipment.
- Manages network performance and maintains network security.
- Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced.
- Installs all network software.
- Evaluates, develops and maintains telecommunications systems.
- Troubleshoots network problem Establishes and implements network policies, procedures and standards and ensures their conformance with information systems and company’s objectives.
- Trains users on network operation.
- Performs administration duties for networking hardware including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, ISDN adapters, firewalls and other related network hardware
- Must have firm grasp and knowledge of fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies, capabilities and cabling and their connectivity to local and wide area networks
- Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques
- Provides installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems.
- Designs, develops, implements, tests, debugs, and maintains communications systems.
- Performs configuration of operating system and security patches for host and distributed systems and implements incident response procedures during incidents of a network or host security breach.
- May provide leadership and direction to a team of specialists for these functions.
- Reviews customer requirements and makes recommendations for changes to existing technical architecture.
- Complies with prescribed customer, industry and agency standards.
