Description
Position Summary :
The Wound Care office coordinator will provide quality customer service timely and efficiently. Position duties include : 1) registering patients with correct insurance and personal information 2) coordination of all new patient visits (calling and scheduling) 3) utilization review, 4) preparation of daily schedules 5) general clerical duties and answering phones 6) keeping work area clean 7) billing / coding and 8) departmental audits.
Primary responsibility is to obtain an appropriate patient registration which includes : 1) maintaining Medicare Certification 2) physician prescriptions to ensure they are current and have not expired 3) current copies of cards
4) signature of patients 5) sends copies of registration to medical records, patient access, and physician office.
6) Patient accounts that require pre-certification insurance verification and authorization numbers must be obtained timely.
Medical terminology, legal aspects of health information, coding and abstraction of data, statistics, database management, quality improvement methods.
Qualifications
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATION :
NONE
EDUCATION : High School diploma.
High School diploma.
EXPERIENCE :
Minimum 6 months health care related experience required.
Minimum 6 months health care related customer service required.
Experience with registration preferred.
Experience with Meditech, LUVO, Outlook, Excel and Word preferred
