Medical Laboratory Technician

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to support our client’s medical facility in Gardner, MA. This is a 13-week assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Summary :

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs a wide array of laboratory procedures in all departments exercising independent judgment and being involved in evaluating present procedures.

Works closely with supervisors and coworkers to complete patient testing, quality control, correlation studies, and special projects.

Actively participates in specimen collection procedures.

Job Description :

• Performs routine and special laboratory tests to determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analysis of blood, urine, CSF, and other elements.
• Recognizes test inconsistencies and takes appropriate corrective action. Assists laboratory co-workers in the resolution of similar problems.
• Calls in critical test results to physicians or nurses immediately and according to established criteria. Maintains the critical and reportable results log according to protocol.
• Prepare legible test reports when collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information on patient data / reports.
• Provides medical technology information by answering questions and requests.
• Performs clerical functions associated with the designated laboratory area.
• Contributes to the general laboratory functions and institutional needs. Performs specimen collection and processing duties according to policies established in the clinical laboratory.

Qualifications :

• An associate’s degree in science and clinical training in an approved school of medical technology for MLTs (or equivalent) is required.
• Registered by the ASCP preferred.
• One year of relevant experience.

Job Duration : 13 Weeks Contract

Shifts : Evening shift 8 hours

Weekly Gross Range : $2100 - $2200

Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
