IT Tech Analyst

Description

The Java Engineer for the Digital Payments / POP Team will work as part of the larger team to help in the integration of vendor solutions into Huntington environments, customize coding on these vendor solutions, defect triage and root cause analysis and maintenance of web applications, while helping to ensure consistency with company strategy and goals.

Detailed Description :

This role is an entry level position requiring the individual to be driven, well-organized and curious. They must be self-motivated and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The team will look to this individual to complete design, development and integration activities while also assisting in production releases and the resolution of incidents.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Participate in the analysis and review of project requirements
• Participate in the creation and review of technical design of component software features
• Develop technical solutions based upon user specifications and technology frameworks, in adherence with Huntington standards
• Participate in the review of Design and Test Strategy deliverables
• Participate in code reviews and integration testing of solutions
• Participate in the debugging and resolution of issues found during testing
• Assist in the documentation and implementation of software programs and solutions
• Work with technical teams interfacing with assigned application
• Create and maintain system documentation, manuals, policy documents, etc.
• May lead small enhancement efforts and small projects
• Schedule and facilitate meetings as needed
• Research and analyze production support issues
• Actively communicate with users and team to provide technical support
• Participates with team to establish target dates and complete activities / deliverables under changing conditions
• Participates in production releases as scheduled
• Participates in the team’s on-call rotation for application support

Basic Qualifications :

1 year of programming experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent transferable experience through coursework, internships, or work experience in lieu of participation in the Elevate Program

Preferred Qualifications :

• A good understanding of project lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Iterative, Agile / Scrum) and project management processes and standards
• Experience with version control tools such as Git
• Experience with or good understanding of Agile Delivery
• Experience with Rest Assured is a plus
• Ability to translate technology into relatable concepts for business partners
• Experience with IIB (IBM Integration Bus) is a plus but not required

Skills :

• Strong technical skills and a good understanding of software development principles and project lifecycles
• Experience with Java
• Experience with front-end web development (JavaScript, JQuery)
• Strong SQL coding background; understanding of SQL statement optimization / tuning
• Experience with HTML5, CSS3, Oracle, SQL or DB2
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle
• Strong business and technology aptitude with a willingness to learn and understand business and technology solutions, cloud automation concepts, practices, and tools
• Excellent verbal and written communications
• Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build credibility and strong partnerships while working collaboratively within the team and across the organization
• Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, determine priorities, and execute in a high-pressure environment
