Tesla Manufacturing Engineering has the important role of designing "The Machine that builds the Machine". We work with the cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Production, Sustaining, and Supply Chain) throughout the entire lifecycle of a product (from initial design through prototype development and into full production) to develop high quality and efficient manufacturing equipment and processes that will produce the power electronics that drive our cars and energy products.
The role of the SMT Material Handler is to support the PCBA team in producing world-class Power Electronics Boards. The ideal candidate takes pride in their material handling, analytical ability, organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
- Receive incoming material utilizing proper practices for ESD (Electrostatic Sensitive Devices) and MSD (Moisture Sensitive Devices)
- Register, label, and store materials into Tesla databank
- Able to perform offline feeder setup and should be detailed oriented
- Good understanding of SMT and plated through-hole component values and sizes
- Perform inventory count and clear-to-builds (CTB) prior to the scheduled builds
- Support the manufacturing engineering team to set-up the PCBA line by assembly components into appropriate feeders and loading them into the offline feeder tables
- Perform kit returns, cycle counts, and updating inventory spread sheet
- Understanding of approved vendor list (AVL) and part substitutions
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and retrieve packages from shipping and receiving
- Follow written work instructions to do the following : build and pack boxes, load pallets, and apply labels
Requirements
- Minumum 3+ years' experience in PCBA Manufacturing environment
- Experience in a factory organization
- Working knowledge of MRP and / or ERP system
- Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
- Data entry, math and computer skilled
- Able to problem solve and work with minimal supervision toward a stated goal
- IPC-A- 610 trained is preferred
- Familiar with ESD / MSL requirements for components, PCB / PCBAs and 5S

Expected Compensation
$21.00 - $24.00 / hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
