We are on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Offshore Electronics Technician to join our dynamic team. This exciting role will focus on Hydrography and Marine Geophysical Equipment within the scientific industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of advanced hydrographic and marine geophysical equipment.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a challenging environment with cutting-edge technology while contributing significantly to scientific research and understanding.
Responsibilities :
1. Perform routine maintenance and repair on hydrographic and marine geophysical equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
2. Troubleshoot and diagnose electronic faults on offshore equipment and systems, including sonar systems, magnetometers, and sub-bottom profilers.
3. Carry out pre and post-operation checks on all equipment, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
4. Provide technical support to offshore teams, assisting with equipment installation, operation, and removal.
5. Document all repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
6. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement equipment upgrades and modifications.
7. Train other team members on the proper use and maintenance of hydrographic and marine geophysical equipment.
8. Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications :
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electronics Technician in the offshore or marine industry.
3. Solid understanding of hydrographic and marine geophysical equipment, including sonar systems, magnetometers, and sub-bottom profilers.
4. Proven experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic equipment and systems.
5. Ability to work in challenging offshore environments and adapt to changing conditions.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical team members.
