ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children.
ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 450 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.
Job Summary : The Peer Mentor plays a crucial role in supporting program participants through a variety of responsibilities aimed at fostering connections, aiding in problem-solving, and providing valuable insights drawn from personal experiences to ensure their continued engagement and progress.

Establishing and nurturing connections with program participants through virtual and in-person interactions, offering peer counseling based on personal lived experiences.
Thoroughly examine worksheets related to life skills modules to ensure clarity and understanding. Provide feedback and guidance to participants to reinforce comprehension and application of the material.
- Assisting program participants in cultivating essential skills, building confidence, and fostering meaningful relationships to better prepare them for their career pursuits.
- Creating an inclusive and supportive environment conducive to open dialogue and collaboration, where participants feel empowered to share their experiences and perspectives freely.
- Developing relevant content and managing a closed social media group to facilitate effective communication and resource sharing among participants, enhancing their learning and networking opportunities.
- Collaborating closely with the Employment Coach to coordinate and schedule one-on-one meetings with participants, providing additional support and assistance as required to ensure their needs are met effectively.
