Position Requirements and Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field
- Purchasing training / certifications and MBA are preferred but not required
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience
- Strong financial acumen and knowledge of accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software, including Quickbooks.
- Ability to prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Skill in performing financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Experience with Governmental Accounting.
- Knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Duties
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and journals.
- Perform financial forecasting and budgeting to assist in financial planning and decision-making.
- Utilize accounting software, such as Quickbooks, to manage and analyze financial data and payroll.
- Analyze financial statements and identify areas for cost savings and improvement.
- Provide financial information and advice to management and other stakeholders.
- Comply with relevant financial regulations and laws, including those related to Governmental Accounting.
- Assist with the preparation of taxs and other financial documents.
- Collaborate with other accounting and finance professionals to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage purchasing activites.
