Position Requirements and Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field
• Purchasing training / certifications and MBA are preferred but not required
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience
• Strong financial acumen and knowledge of accounting principles.
• Proficiency with accounting software, including Quickbooks.
• Ability to prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Skill in performing financial forecasting and budgeting.
• Experience with Governmental Accounting.
• Knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Duties

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and journals.
• Perform financial forecasting and budgeting to assist in financial planning and decision-making.
• Utilize accounting software, such as Quickbooks, to manage and analyze financial data and payroll.
• Analyze financial statements and identify areas for cost savings and improvement.
• Provide financial information and advice to management and other stakeholders.
• Comply with relevant financial regulations and laws, including those related to Governmental Accounting.
• Assist with the preparation of taxs and other financial documents.
• Collaborate with other accounting and finance professionals to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Manage purchasing activites.
