We are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer with 5 to 15 years of professional experience to be part of our Structures team in our Orlando Office.

Responsibilities
In this position you will assist in the development of transportation design projects for clients such as FDOT, tolling authorities and municipalities.
A strong background in Florida DOT design policies and procedures is preferred. The candidate will work in a fast-paced engineering environment where projects may be derived from a number of delivery methods including conventional design-bid-build projects and alternative delivery.
Over the last two decades, WGI has delivered a variety of transportation projects including some of the largest and most complex interstate projects in the state of Florida.

- Develop engineering designs and plans for various structures including reinforced concrete bridges, prestressed / post-tensioned concrete bridges, steel plate and box girder bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, sign / signal structures, sound barrier walls, and other transportation related structures.
- Assist in the creation of engineering documents including Bridge Development Reports, Bridge Load Rating Calculation, and Design-Build Technical Proposals.
- Participate in and assist with client meetings, marketing pursuits, writing letters of interest, and project presentations.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and other firms on complex interchange projects.
- Review engineering work produced by other engineers to ensure designs, plans and calculations are complete and accurate.
- Assist with business development activities including marketing and proposal preparation, as necessary.
Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college (Masters preferred)
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Proficiency in Structural Engineering Software including Leap Bridge, Conspan, RC-Pier, STAAD, MDX, Midas, FB-MultiPier, MathCAD, and Microstation.
- Familiarity with FDOT plans preparation criteria and design standards.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and work on large multi-discipline engineering teams.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to others in the engineering profession.
- Possess advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Effectively coordinate, perform, and complete multiple duties and assignments concurrently and in a timely manner.
- Travel to other office locations may be required.
